How does the pity mechanic work?
The pity mechanic relates to receiving Heroes from the Time Portal by using Antimatter.
When reaching the threshold of the pity mechanic
without receiving any 5-star hero, you will be guaranteed to receive a 5-star hero from the Time Portal on your next attempt. If you receive a 5-star hero before you reach the threshold, this counter will be reset again.
Be aware that every category of the Time Portal (for example regular, legendary, seasonal arcane and weekly culture city event) have separated pity mechanics.
The guarantee carries over between these event portals:
- All seasons since Season 7 (Masters of Melody, Mozart was the seasonal 5-star hero back then);
- Separate runs of the Vikings;
- Separate runs of Egypt;
- Separate runs of China;
- Separate runs of Mayan.
What this means: If you pulled a non-season 5-star hero in season 7 or later, you are guaranteed to receive a season hero as your next 5-star from Arcane Antimatter, regardless of whether or not you pull it in the same season or in a later one. The same applies to the Event Cities.
Pity does not have any effect on this guarantee. It does not matter if you pull a hero due to luck or because you hit the pity counter.
