About Time Portal Promotions and Rate-Ups

x10 Hero Promotions and x2 Legendary Rate-Ups improve your summoning chances in different ways.

Please note that the numbers listed below are examples, using a pool of 20 available 5-star heroes, to help illustrate how this works in real situations. Since the number of available heroes varies between Time Portals, the exact rates for a specific portal may differ.

An x2 Legendary Rate-Up doubles the overall chance of summoning any 5-star hero.

  • Standard 5-star chance (regular Time Portal): 0.5%, or an average of 1 in 200 pulls
  • During the rate-up: 1%, or an average of 1 in 100 pulls

Over many pulls, this means that approximately 1 in every 100 pulls will result in a 5-star hero. This is an average, not a guarantee, so you may summon one sooner or go longer without one. To protect against particularly unlucky streaks, each Time Portal has a pity system that guarantees a 5-star hero after a specified number of consecutive pulls without one.

In our example, all 20 available 5-star heroes have an equal chance of being summoned. Once a pull has been determined to be a 5-star, each hero therefore has a 1 in 20 chance of appearing.

An x10 Hero Promotion makes one specific hero much more likely to be summoned from the available pool.

In a pool of 20 heroes:
  • 1 promoted hero has a weight of 10
  • The other 19 heroes have a weight of 1 each
  • Total weight: 29
If the summoned hero is a 5-star:
  • The x10 promoted hero: 34.48%, or about 1 in 2.9
  • Each non-promoted hero: 3.45%, or 1 in 29

Under normal circumstances, with the standard 0.5% chance of summoning any 5-star hero, the x10 promoted hero (in a pool of 20 heroes) would have a 0.1724% chance per pull, or an average of approximately 1 in 580 pulls.

However, the pity and guarantee systems protect against extreme bad luck. The pity system guarantees a 5-star hero after 200 consecutive pulls without one. If that 5-star hero is not the x10 promoted hero, the guarantee system ensures that the next 5-star hero you summon will be the promoted hero.

This means that you are guaranteed to receive the x10 promoted hero within 400 pulls. Under these pity and guarantee rules, there is approximately an 8.9% chance that the promoted hero will only be obtained on the 400th pull.

Allied Culture Time Portals usually feature two 5-star heroes with an x10 Promotion.

In a pool of 20 heroes:
  • 2 promoted heroes have a weight of 10 each
  • The other 18 heroes have a weight of 1 each
  • Total weight: 38
If the summoned hero is a 5-star:
  • Each x10 promoted hero: 26.32%, or about 1 in 3.8
  • Either x10 promoted hero: 52.63%, or about 1 in 1.9
  • Each other hero: 2.63%, or 1 in 38
If the guarantee system is active, the next 5-star hero is guaranteed to be one of the two x10 promoted heroes. Each then has an equal 50% chance of being selected.

Some Time Portals may feature additional promoted heroes with different rates, such as x3. These promotions follow the same weighting rules explained above.
