Barracks will be instrumental in your quest through the world map.
While you cannot lose your city in Rise of Cultures, you definitely want to partner up with cultures you encounter. Some of them will only consider you worthy if you prove your military superiority. There are several types of military barracks, and they allow you to produce different types of units. When you first start the game, you will only use infantry – melee and ranged alike. As you progress through the game, you will get access to more types, such as cavalry, heavy infantry or siege weapons.
