BackIntroducing: Item Store!
New feature alert! Item Store is about to open in Forge of Empires! Keep reading to find out how to use it, what you can get for free, and how we want the Store to look over time.
What is Item Store, and where do I find it?
The goal of the Store is to give our players access to buildings and items that would otherwise be available only in certain Events and features and require specific strategic choices. At first, only one kind of Store will be available — the Legacy Exchange. In this store, you can purchase needed items with Diamonds and use our new special resources to get them for free!
Over time, we plan to introduce both new Store sections and new special currencies to be won in existing game features and spent at the Store, so you won't be limited to Diamonds. While it's too early to talk specifics yet, make sure to check our FAQ section at the end for more information!
But first, let's get into the original Store — the Legacy Exchange!
Legacy Exchange
Finding the Store is easy: just click this icon in the Buff Bar to the right.
Important! You need to research "Cultivation" to unlock the first section of the Store, as the available items are from Events that this technology gives you access to.
The first section of the store is dedicated to rewards you can win in Events. Here in the Legacy Exchange, you can get:
- Event buildings from previous Events
- Powerful army boost potions
The selection of items will automatically refresh every Monday at midnight (server time) and cannot be refreshed manually.
Each available item will have a purchase limit indicated under it. As you change the quantity, the price will adjust.

You will notice that the first item in the Legacy Exchange is a mysterious Opal Seal.
Opal Seals are a new resource you can use to buy reward Chests with random content. The more valuable the Chest, the more Seals you will need. For example, 28 of them will get you Large Chest with a random, fully levelled Grand Prize building from a previous Event. To find out the exact content of the Chests, hover over it in the store window.
We will start with a selection of Event buildings from the following Events:
- Anniversary 2024
- History 2024
- Summer 2024
FAQ
Why didn't you just update the Antiques Dealer?
While this feature is similar to the new Item Store, we consider them different both in design and technical setup. Going forward, we will re-assess the status of the Antiques Dealer and its synergy with the new Store to determine the future direction for both. While we can't give a definite date for it yet, we will keep you posted.
Can I only use Diamonds to buy items?
In the Legacy Exchange, the first Store section, Diamonds are the main currency. In addition, you can use Opal Seals to get a free Chest over time. However, we plan to expand these options with new Item Store sections.
How will the Item Store be expanded?
As mentioned, we're planning to introduce new Store sections dedicated to specific game features like Guild Battlegrounds and others. For those feature-specific Stores, we plan to create new currencies you can win by playing the corresponding feature and spend in the Store later. Please mind that future Stores are in development, so much may still change.
