Great Buildings Prestige: what to know before the Live release

With this message, we would like to share an interim summary of the discussions and considerations that have been had in the development team since the announcement of Great Buildings Prestige. We thank everyone who has put in effort to test the update so far! Your feedback provided the very basis for our work.

While we wish we could consider every individual point, we had to narrow the conversation down to the most popular topics where we could determine a general consensus. To be specific, we focused on the Great Building migration (i.e., player concerns about level adjustment and consequential refunds, including potential exploits), level-up costs, additional unique GB effects, the Arc contribution bonus, and the rankings.

At this point, we are testing various suggestions how to address your concerns and, most importantly, checking how feasible they are from a technical and balance point of view. Despite our best wishes, feedback can rarely be implemented unchanged due to those limitations. Since we're still working out the details, we cannot yet say how exactly the update will change before the Live release. One point we can already make is that we recognize the importance of the Arc contribution bonus both for in gameplay and social interactions, so we are actively considering the best way to utilize its potential while keeping the balance.

In this context, we'd like to emphasize the test nature of the Beta server. Content we release here is always subject to change, so avoid using it to inform your strategy for Live gameplay. This rule applies to all content, but especially to Great Buildings Prestige thanks to its impact and complexity. In particular, the GB migration is likely to change before the Live release.

Our main intention with Beta remains to explore new approaches, content, and solutions. We thank you once again for joining us in this exploration, despite the rapid changes and calculations it involves. The Great Buildings Prestige update is a prime example of how your feedback has already successfully contributed to shaping the future of Forge of Empires!

We include the archive of Wiki pages detailing the state of Great Buildings, as of the time of the update on March 9th. Please do not treat it as final balancing, but rather a snapshot of the current state that is likely to change. Click here to download.
