Battle for Atlantis

Battle for Atlantis is a large-scale Alliance vs. Alliance feature where four Alliances compete for control of Atlantis.

The goal is to capture and defend Nodes to earna1b72b20d6cfd9058d98cffff27aeccbVictory Points. Nodes generate Victory Points automatically, and the Alliance with the most Victory Points at the end of the season wins.

A focused strategy is often more effective than trying to control the entire map.

Nodes vary in size and value. Larger Nodes generate more Victory Points, have more garrison slots, and are harder to hold.

To capture a garrison slot, defeat the heroes defending it. Empty slots can be taken without a battle. To take control of a Node, your Alliance must control the majority of its slots when all slots are breached. Up to two Alliances can attack the same Node at once.

Once captured, the Node starts generating Victory Points for your Alliance and is shielded for a short time. Nobody can attack or take it while the shield is active.

Unclaimed Nodes are held by the Atlantean Remnants. Their garrisons are built from the strongest heroes of the players in your match, and the larger and more central the Node, the stronger the team defending it.

During the Preparation Phase, assign 25 heroes to your Atlantis roster. These are the only heroes you can use for the rest of the season.

Battles are instant and automatic.
Select 5 heroes, confirm, and receive the result immediately. Please note that unlike Treasure Hunt, your Healers cannot heal a hero above the HP they entered the battle with.

Heroes placed in a garrison stay there until the slot is breached. They cannot attack or repair while stationed, but you can withdraw them at any time. Please note that withdrawing from a contested Node abandons the slot.

Three things keep your heroes from being battle ready.

1. Attacks usec351e10a66afbc6898d41f95d9c92b19Atlantis Energy, which regenerates over time. Spending it on Nodes your Alliance cannot hold can weaken your overall strategy.

2. Heroes take damage in every battle, and lose a further 20% HP through Attrition afterwards, allies and enemies alike. This lets your Alliance wear down stronger defenses over multiple attacks. Heroes stay usable down to 10% HP, below which they are unavailable until they recover, either over time or instantly with3e66719195792946b22d3d8aa353a0c3Medkits. Unused Medkits expire at the end of the Atlantis season.

3. After attacking an enemy hero team, your heroes travel back to your Headquarters before they are available again. They recover HP along the way, and the deeper you push into enemy territory, the longer the return. Heroes do not recover HP while stationed in a garrison or working on a repair.

Slots breached by an enemy can be repaired by the Alliance that controls the Node.

The player who starts a repair assigns 5 heroes. Those heroes move into the garrison once the repair finishes, so the slot is defended again the moment it is restored.

Up to two more Alliance members can join to speed up the repair. They don't assign heroes.

c9d29ea321a9e60a778a471ee725dd74Atlantis Points and Matchmaking

Matchmaking is based solely on your Alliance's Elo rating, called Atlantis Points, not on combat power. You can find it in the Alliance profile, next to your Atlantis League.

Your Alliance is matched with three opponents of a similar rating. Higher Leagues bring stronger opponents, but also better rewards.

Your Alliance's Atlantis Points are the sum of each player's personal Elo. The personal Elo you gain depends on how well you perform in the current Atlantis season.

The total Elo your Alliance gains or loses at the end of each Atlantis season depends on its performance. Depending on how strong your opponents are, the game expects your Alliance to reach a certain share of the Victory Points. If your Alliance is above it, you gain Elo. If it is below, you lose Elo.

Because matches are built from similar ratings, every Alliance is expected to win around a quarter of the time, with an average finish of 2.5th.
