I just used the Premium Exchange but did not get any resources.

The bought resources aren't credited to your account directly with the purchase. They have to be delivered to your village, which takes two hours (on a world with game speed 1). You can find the exact time for your world in the information pop-up on the Premium Exchange screen. You can also check the "Send Resources" tab in your market to see when the goods will arrive in your village.
