Let's start with the first question and Tiered Great Buildings.
In this update, a limited number of the most popular Great Buildings will receive all three new Tiers: Copper, Silver, and Gold. As the entire system undergoes an overhaul, we wanted to ensure as many of you as possible can benefit from the new Prestige update as soon as we can make it happen. Therefore, after a careful analysis, we selected only the most commonly built and highest-leveled GBs for the first update.

After the addition of Tiers, these GBs will remain on the same level. So, if you've fully leveled any of them beyond level 101, you can take advantage of new shiny Tier effects immediately after the update. You can continue leveling GBs from this list within the new system, now with more impact from every new level up. As part of aligning the system with the current game progression, Forge Points requirements per level have been adjusted upward. This helps maintain the balance and long-term value of the final milestone.
Despite only a limited number of GBs receiving new Tiers, all of them are updated in order to integrate the system into the game properly and prepare for future Tier additions. GBs that do not receive Silver and Gold Tiers will nevertheless receive the Copper Tier. Read more in the next section.
GBs not on the list above will have their first 200 levels reclassified as the Copper Tier. Due to the lack of higher Tiers, the evolution of those GBs will stop at level 200 for the time being. Leveling beyond level 200 can then resume if new Tiers are added for such a building.
As mentioned, all GBs are updated in order to fit the new system. In case of Copper-only GBs, it means that, while the final bonus at level 200 remains the same, the effects and costs on every individual level might change after the update. This change comes as a result of general recalculation of the building scaling. We'd like to highlight that only the distribution of effect values may change. The full effect a GB can achieve in 200 levels remains unchanged, so any discrepancies to the previous state can be rectified with the next level up.
Based on our analysis, Great Buildings from this group aren't commonly upgraded beyond level 200. For the absolute vast majority of players, the biggest change will be the level cap and the inability to continue growing Copper-only GBs until a new Tier is added for them.
General note: In extremely rare cases, Great Buildings upgraded to uncommonly high levels will need to be downgraded. Depending on whether a Great Building receives new Tiers or stays in Copper, the cap will be different: 200 for Copper, and 400 for GBs with Silver and Gold Tiers. Owners of such GBs will be compensated with Forge Points, Goods, Resources and Blueprints proportional to the number of levels they lost. The compensation will be send directly to Inventory.
It is important to underline that the downgrade, regardless of the GB group, is a very uncommon occurrence that applies to extremely rare high-level Great Buildings. For instance, an Arc leveled beyond level 400 will have to be downgraded because we do not release new Tiers beyond the Gold. However, the absolute vast majority of players have their Arc - and the other GBs selected for the addition of new Tiers - at a much lower level that falls within the new Tier system. The same logic applies to the Copper-only GBs: they were not selected for the Tiered update because they are not as popular as their counterparts. Thus, the potential negative impact of leaving those GBs in the Copper Tier is as low as it can be.
Being arguably the most popular Great Building in Forge of Empires, the iconic Arc receives the new Silver and Gold Tiers. As seen from the list above, new Tier effects do not include the Arc's most noticeable effect – the contribution bonus. This skill can no longer be upgraded beyond the Copper Tier (level 200). The already existing contribution bonus is already high enough to allow you to invest Forge Points with a surplus, so it seemed only logical to conclude its evolution at this stage.
Additionally, the Arc's contribution bonus will only apply to the first 200 levels of other GBs. Meaning, you will receive the Arc contribution bonus only as long as you donate to Great Buildings under level 200. The reason for this change being that the new Tiers employ a slightly different leveling system, meaning they require extra Blueprints, Goods, and overall are supposed to represent a more challenging, long-term goal. We find that expanding the Arc contribution bonus to new Tiers has potential to devalue the feature and unnecessarily accelerate power creep on Great Buildings as well.
With the release, the Ranking will be updated to include Tiers and new mechanics and will be accessible by default from the Ranking window. Following the update, you may notice a change in your Ranking points. It comes as a result of Great Buildings costs being adjusted with the update, so new Ranking points aim to reflect that cost.
The addition of Prestige Tiers fundamentally changes the feature, so we decided to preserve the current Great Buildings Ranking and make sure your achievements can find a reflection in the game.
