Guild Expedition Update 2025
Guild Expeditions are in for an update! For the next iteration of the feature, we’ve prepared:
- new Trials;
- new reward Stores;
- various interface improvements, including community wishes.
Enjoy these changes with the new Guild Expedition starting
September 30th on BETA, and continue reading for the detailed description of everything new in GE.
New Trials
Seeing as a number of our players have completed the existing Trials, we’ve almost doubled their selection, adding 25 new Trials. This brings the total number of Trials to 55, more than enough space to stretch your legs!
Even when you reach higher Trials, you will not experience a steep increase in difficulty, but rather a steady climb up.
Unlock Costs
Good news! We’ve significantly reduced unlock costs for higher difficulties by lowering their cost multiplier. And, most importantly, you can now easily reference them at all times, as per your wishes.
Firs off, you can
view the total costs of all difficulties, as well as them all separately
in the Trial selection window. Note that the cost here is calculated for the entire Guild, not individual players. Just click the icon in the top left of the selection window and plan your future actions accordingly:
You can continue referencing the same table during the ongoing Expedition as well. To access it,
view available difficulties and click the same symbol in the top left corner for the same cost overview: total and per difficulty.
No more waiting to reach the difficulty or keeping track of lengthy manual tables!
Item Store and Reward Distribution
The Item Store is coming to Guild Expeditions (GE) as well, so you can have more control over your own rewards. After the update, as you play the encounters, you can win up to four different new currencies:
Common Jade Coins | Common Jade Snakes | Uncommon Jade Coyotes | Uncommon Jade Statues |
 |  |  |  |
As you can conclude from the names, these currencies are intended for different value rewards:
Common and Uncommon. These rewards are collected in two dedicated Item Stores of the corresponding names. To differentiate between the stores, look at their name, icon, and the character’s attire (more elaborate for the Uncommon store).
GE Common Store | GE Uncommon Store |

 |  |
You can access the Stores directly from the GE interface:
The GE stores refresh every Tuesday at midnight server time. The reward selection is pre-set, so only the item limits will update.
Play the encounters to win all the new currencies. The higher the Trial and difficulty, the more challenging the encounter, the more likely you are to receive higher-value currency. Note that you can still receive typical encounter rewards you’d normally expect. From every encounter, you can either get the currencies or familiar Fragments (Forgotten Temple and the Fountain of Youth), along with other resources you could normally get, including Diamonds.
Speaking of the latter,
with this update, we’ve eliminated the randomness that applied to Diamonds in the past. A fixed number of 30 Diamonds will be available from the encounters starting at Difficulty 4. In addition, 30 Diamonds (in increments of 10) will be available in the Common GE Store. This way, you can receive a guaranteed reward of 60 Diamonds every active season you play, which amounts to the average number of Diamonds players used to get in the old system.
In addition to Diamonds, Stores will offer a wide selection of Fragments for various buildings, including shiny NEW upgrades for buildings you know and love. We’re introducing Platinum Upgrade Kits for the Terrace Farm and the Serpent!

Visual Improvements
We’ve further polished the feature for ease of use, starting with the Trial Window:
- Added window pagination for seamless switching between Trial pages.
- Made it so that the Trial selection window always opens on the page with the last finished Trial, so you can pick right back up. (Note: if you haven’t finished any Trials yet, you’ll be brought to page 1)
- Added an indication of the last played Trial.
For the new Stores and the main GE interface, we’ve added new progress bars to help you keep better track of your currencies. You can easily see your currency balance not only in the GE Item Stores themselves, but also in the main interface:

Your currency pouch will grow visibly fatter as you collect more and more currency, and you will see a corresponding warning once it's full. Use it for a quick reference or hover over it for the detailed breakdown of your balance.
This concludes our announcement. Thank you for your continued passion for Forge of Empires. We hope you enjoy these enhancements as we continue to craft new adventures for you!
