What are Player Encounters and how do I participate?

Player Encounters is a competitive feature (with optional participation) in Rise of Cultures, where you can battle against other players' pre-set defending armies to climb up the league ranking.

To take part, you must unlock the "Arenas" technology in the Minoan Era:

Once done, access the feature by using the icon in the city:
Player Encounters seasons run for 6 days, and the countdown beneath the icon shows the remaining time.
