Jobs

Jobs are at the heart of the entire Western economy, offering valuable experience, cash, and products to players.
These resources are essential for survival and progress in the Wild West.
To succeed, you have to get out there and work hard!

It all starts with fixing spurs. As you grow and become more skilled, you'll unlock farming and basic mining jobs.
Each time you reach a new level, all the newly unlocked jobs will be revealed.
When you reach level 241, all jobs will be available to you.

An overview

Currently, there are 203 jobs in the game. All jobs are grouped in sets of 3 to 6, depending on their type.
For example, the "mining jobs" group includes silver mining, sulfur mining, lead mining, digging for rare gemstones, mining saltpeter, and prospecting are all found in the same work area.
You can locate a specific job by using the minimap.

The image above shows a typical job page.
The five pickaxes in the top-left corner represent your labor points, indicating your proficiency in this particular job.
The two large circles at the bottom display danger and job motivation, respectively.
Above these circles, you can click the Work Clothes button to see the best clothing options for this job.

On the right side of the page, you’ll find the different durations for performing the job: 15 seconds, 10 minutes, and 1 hour.
The rewards are shown as horizontal bars, representing, in order: experience, money, the maximum value of a possible item drop, and the product drop rate.

Under the "start" button, next to the green hammer, is the energy requirement, which matches the motivation consumed upon completing that time segment. Additionally, the distance to the job site is displayed in the top-right corner of the page.

You can get extra information by hovering your mouse over specific elements on the job screen.

Unlocking jobs

When you start the game, not all jobs are immediately available.
To unlock a job, you must meet one of two requirements:

  • Reach the required level
  • Have the required labor points

For example, freeing slaves requires either 751 total labor points or reaching level 99.

To see how many labor points you still need, hover over the job on the map; a tooltip will appear showing the missing points in red.

In the early stages, some job features are locked.
The 10-minute work period unlocks at level 10, and the 1-hour work period unlocks at level 20.

Silver and gold jobs
Silver and gold jobs are identified by a silver or gold rim around their icons.
These jobs do not appear on the minimap; the only way to find them is by expanding all job groups.
Every day between 3 and 4 AM, these jobs are reset and randomly redistributed on the map.

Silver-enhanced jobs receive a 50% boost to experience, cash, and product drop rates. Gold-enhanced jobs receive a 100% boost.
Bonuses from the premium income and the Adventurer character do compound with the increased cash rewards, but they do not compound with the increased product drop rate.

Cancelling work

You can always cancel the job you are currently doing or any jobs queued for later by clicking the X next to the job.
Your energy will be automatically refunded.

If you cancel a job while walking to the job site, you will instantly return to the starting point of your journey.
Cancelling the second job in your queue will move the third job forward.

Note that cancelling a job in progress will not generate a report.

Labor points

Every job has 5 skill slots.
The job shown below - Picking Berries - requires 2 x Toughness, 1 x Hiding, and 2 x Fine motoring skills.

f9c83460c5c436af7c253ecfa7b2d193

The skill points you have in each slot are added together to give your total labor points for the job.
These are represented by pickaxes, which come in three different colors.
ba98038b1480a15c39b15999a0e29e26 1fa399c6155ebaf9dc6001c712335bf1 fc14125531165924c8cdfd5bb37d1436

The green bar under the pickaxes shows your progress toward earning the next pickaxe. When all five pickaxes are gold, the bar remains full.
Hovering over this bar will display a tooltip with your total labor points for that job.

To find out how many labor points a job requires, subtract the labor points shown in this tooltip from the labor points displayed when you hover over the job icon on the map.

Example: b41e1bd3f1cd8a2bbb317814b98b3e1f - 8ee6f9e8994cb9f11ade26fd43109dd1 = 591 labor points required for Pick indigo

To reach the silver level, you must first collect all 5 bronze pickaxes.
To advance to the gold level, you need all 5 silver pickaxes.

It's important to note that the pickaxes are simply a visual representation of your proficiency in a job. The actual rewards - cash, experience, maximum luck value, and product drop rate - are directly influenced by your total labor points.
This increase in rewards is especially valuable early on, particularly when you don’t yet meet the required labor points for a job.

Here are a few cases where pickaxes play a significant role:

  • If you have bronze pickaxes, it means you're relatively unqualified for the job. The danger level is typically high.
However, once you earn the fifth bronze pickaxe, the danger drops significantly.
  • Five bronze pickaxes indicate that you have the minimum required labor points for that job.
  • Experience rewards increase with additional labor points until you reach five bronze pickaxes.
At that point, experience gain caps and represents the maximum for that job.
  • Earning all five golden pickaxes in a job grants a 50% bonus to the product drop rate for that job.

There are several ways to gain extra labor points for a job:

  • Gear: Click the "Work Clothes" button to find the best clothing in your inventory for the job. It's also a good idea to research other clothing items that can boost your labor points even further.
These can be purchased in stores, from the traveling merchant, or through the market.[Here is a complete list of items.]
  • Item sets: Some items belong to sets that provide bonuses to skills and/or labor points.
Certain sets offer job-specific labor point bonuses.[Here is a complete list of item sets.]
  • Work instructions: These can be purchased from the Union Pacific Shop or obtained through specific quests.
They are usable items with a limited number of uses and temporarily boost labor points.
  • Crafted products: Various crafted items function like work instructions and provide temporary labor point bonuses.
  • Seasonal usable products: Some limited-time items from tombolas and seasonal events can also boost labor points when consumed.
Rewards

f1b8148a451080f08bf68534b7595dd4Cash

Each job offers a monetary reward upon completion.
The amount of cash earned varies between jobs, but as long as your job motivation is above 0% and you don’t pass out during the job, you will always receive some payment.

The exact amount of money you'll earn is shown in the reward bars on the job page.
You will receive exactly what is displayed when you start the job - no more, no less.
As your motivation decreases, so does the amount of money you can earn.

To increase the cash reward:

  • Boost your labor points for that job.
  • Activate the Higher income premium feature.

Keep in mind that adding more labor points increases the payout, but the effect is not linear - each additional point has a smaller impact than the last.

256a3ae9d23cfaa2c8c6f2e8e5410493Experience

Each job provides an experience reward upon completion.
The amount of experience earned varies from job to job, but as long as your job motivation is above 0% and you don’t pass out during the job, you will always gain experience.

Experience increases with additional labor points until you reach the required amount for the job (represented by 5 bronze pickaxes).
Once you hit that threshold, the experience gain is capped.

The only way to earn more experience beyond this cap is by completing enhanced jobs - these are the silver- and gold-rimmed jobs that are randomly distributed on the map each day.

2eac26f10dda9c214cea471a9503f8cbLuck

Each job has a chance to drop an item. The exact formula used to calculate this drop chance is unknown and kept secret.
However, the Adventurer’s bonus increases this chance by 10%.

The luck value shown on the job screen represents the maximum possible value of a dropped item.
To see the minimum value, hover your cursor over the luck value. In theory, any item you find will have a purchase value somewhere between this minimum and maximum range.

Luck values vary between jobs. Some of the most profitable jobs in terms of item drops are Working as a traveling merchant and Grave robber.
Note that the luck value remains the same regardless of the job duration, but longer working times increase the chance of an item dropping.

Luck increases in a similar way to cash - by adding more labor points.
The Higher income premium, certain item sets, and specific reward items like Lucky worker’s clasp can further increase the luck value.
However, these reward items cannot be crafted or purchased through regular means.

5f54ab346097e312fe6073708a571abeProduct Drop rate

Each job offers one or two specific products, though some jobs may yield a random product instead.

The chance of receiving a product is shown as a percentage on the job screen.
This product drop rate varies depending on the selected job duration - longer time slices offer higher drop rates.

The base product drop rate starts at 1% and increases as you add more labor points.
The maximum product drop rate is reached when you have 5 golden pickaxes, which grants a 50% bonus.
Adding labor points beyond this does not increase the drop rate further.

The Adventurer character bonus, Higher income premium, and specific items like Ratatouille with fish can further boost the drop rate beyond this limit. To view a detailed breakdown of all bonuses affecting the product drop rate, simply hover your cursor over the percentage shown on the job screen.

247d7af43adb3992fb5230ee0a05dbc4Danger
a14bb2eb96718a9ec124fcefc63d520f

Every job in the game carries an element of danger.

Regardless of how long you work, the risk of getting injured remains constant across all time slices.
The level of danger is primarily determined by how many labor points you have for that job.

The injury chance is displayed as a percentage, which reflects a straightforward random probability.
While the exact formula for injury severity is unknown, a general pattern has been observed:
  • A low injury chance usually results in low damage
  • A high injury chance tends to cause higher or even very high damage
It is not possible to be knocked out from a single job if your health bar is full.
The Adventurer bonus reduces the injury chance by 10%.

Damage Scaling

Injury severity scales with your total health points (HP):
  • A player with 2,000 HP might receive 900 damage
  • A player with 14,000 HP could receive 6,500 damage
This damage scaling is influenced by how well-qualified you are for the job:
  • Jobs with negative labor points (i.e., you're not skilled enough) are much more dangerous
  • Reaching the required labor point threshold (5 bronze pickaxes) significantly reduces the injury chance
  • Adding more labor points beyond that reduces it even further
0036b180b6a0cc07db213a6b0bc49f07Motivation
4118b67e5f6bc22449cc1e7d4434f6ce

Motivation directly affects the rewards you receive from jobs. The lower your motivation, the lower the rewards.

Motivation influences the following:

  • Experience
  • Money
  • Luck chance

However, it does not affect:

  • Injury chance or severity
  • Luck value (item value range)
  • Product drop rate

How Motivation Works

Motivation is updated after a job report is generated, meaning it affects the next job, not the one currently in progress.
However, if you increase your motivation (e.g. with buffs or the daily increase), the new value will affect the current job if applied before completion.

On the job screen, motivation is visualized as a circle with 4 green balls, each representing 25% motivation.
For reward calculation, only the following breakpoints are used:
  • 100%
  • 75%
  • 50%
  • 25%
  • 0%
Important: If your motivation is, for example, 47%, the game uses the closest higher breakpoint, which is 50% in this case.

Example:
If Job X normally gives:
  • 130 experience
  • $95
At 50% motivation, the rewards will be:
  • 130 × 50% = 65 experience
  • $95 × 50% = $47.5, rounded up to $48

Motivation Reduction Per Job Time:

  • 15 seconds → −1%
  • 10 minutes → −5%
  • 1 hour → −12%
Motivation does not regenerate automatically throughout the day like health or energy.
Instead, all jobs’ motivation is reset to 100% at 5:00 AM server time.

There are also certain buffs and crafted items that can restore motivation manually during the day.
