Chapter XXV - The Purpose of Life
IntroductionVallorion appears in the Main Hall, and to everyone's surprise, she seems to have no evil intentions... But can we believe her?
Rather, Enar, the "God of Insignificance, Coercion, and Dependence", is said to have painted a terrible picture of Vallorion. We have been led astray by him.
Indeed, Vallorion seems to have an explanation for all the events of the past, which at the very least cast doubt on our previous perspective. A most interesting story for Necromancer Bastaran...
Vallorion promises to lead the peoples of this world back to the right path of life. And that simply means using every day of your life to develop your full potential.
According to her teachings, the beings in this suffering world waste what little time they have in senseless conflicts, only to have accomplished something meaningful for "the community" at the end of their lives, instead of working to be the best version of who they could be and, with these unleashed powers, to contribute together to a more peaceful world.
To raise awareness of what everyone can do for themselves and their development at every stage of their lives, Vallorion wants to establish places in our city where her allies, the Orcs, Goblins, Amuni, and Dragons, will first go through the various phases of life, always striving for personal growth - and ultimately, with all the skills they have learned, actively support the community. To support us in this process, Vallorion also teaches us how to craft so-called "Finity Gear" in Armories: equipment that allows each individual to work toward realizing their body and mind's full potential.

As we agree on giving this philosophy a try, Captain Bonkers returns to the city with his new first mate, Diabhal, aboard the Red Pearl. Diabhal strangely doesn't seem to remember his past as king of the Orcs...
Vallorion wants to use the Red Pearl as a temporary residence and the center of the Settlement, and therefore instructs us to gradually expand it, also to help restoring Vallorion's powers – which she promises to use to reawaken the Bastet.
Heeding Vallorion's call, War Lady Bashuruk and her dragon Bruargha also return, as do the new Orc king Bruitemail and his lackey Matad. This causes some friction between the Orcs and the Amuni over who now holds the highest esteem in the goddess's favor. By chance, they finally meet Diabhal, who finds their faces familiar. But no one is interested in reminding him of their shared plot against him...
When Bruargha (who is actually an Arcanologist named Meleuka, spying on the Orcs on behalf of the Sorcerers) tries to reassure us that we shouldn't let Vallorion lull us into believing, and when Diabhal's and Captain Bonkers' fates serve as a clue to Vallorion's manipulative powers, Vallorion banishes Meleuka's powers and thus exposes her to Bashuruk as Dean Durcu's spy. The War Lady is horrified and angry by Bruargha's betrayal and attacks the defenceless Meleuka, who, seriously injured, manages to escape with Bastaran's help. Will we ever see the brave spy again?
