BackHistorical Allies: levelling up
We are taking the Historical Allies to the next level! Read on to find out how to get the needed resources, level up your Allies, and use the updated interface.
The update is set to arrive on Beta server on February 19th. Please note that due to changes in the development schedule, this date may also change. We will update the feature on our International servers after we gather sufficient testing data and feedback.
Now, let's get into the details.
Overview
With this update, we're updating the existing Historical Allies building, and adding a brand new one—the Heroic Taverne, which you will find in the vicinity of the Historical Allies building.
Use the Historical Allies building to get a list of all available Allies and their information, as well as to assign and recall them from rooms in your City — more on that in the New Interface section below.
Visit the NEW Heroic Taverne to pick up various tasks and get level-up resources for completing them, as well as Fragments to assemble new Historical Allies. For a more detailed description of how to level up, scroll down to the corresponding section.
Note: if you haven't unlocked the feature yet, both buildings will appear to be in ruin. Unlock Roof Tile Houses Technology in the Iron Age to access Historical Allies and construct the building access points.
New Interface
As always, find all available Historical Allies on the left. As you collect more and the list fills up, use the arrow to expand the list to two columns for faster scrolling.
On the right, you will find the following tabs allowing you to manage your Allies:
| Effects tab Contains information on the rarity, level, and effects of each Ally. As before, you can place and recall Allies from suitable rooms in your City using this tab. For this update, we've made this button look more refined. | |
| Level Up tab Allows you to level up the Allies, follow their progression between levels, keep track of resources needed for level-up, and go to obtain them. Level Up
With level-up, your Allies will receive a boost to their existing effects. Currently, the maximum level an Ally can reach is 100.
So how does one level up their Allies?
Heroic Scrolls and how to get them
To level up Allies, you need the new resource — Heroic Scrolls. After all, what's a better way to access ancient wisdom than a mysterious-looking Scroll, found after a perilous battle?
Heroic Scrolls have their own levels that determine the amount of Experience Points (XP) each Scroll provides.
For the time being, only Level 1 Scrolls that provide 1,000 XP points will be available. As the Historical Allies feature grows and expands, you are likely to start coming across higher-level Scrolls.
To get Heroic Scrolls, one needs to complete Heroic Endeavors.
Heroic Endeavors are special tasks that you will receive on a weekly basis in the Heroic Taverne, the new off-grid building:
All Heroic Endeavors are grouped by required action, so you can pick the ones most beneficial to you, choosing from the following options:
- Attacking an army
- Defending against an army
- Donating Medals and Forge Points
- Negotiating
Every week, the selection of tasks will be refreshed.
How to level up
Once you've got your Scrolls, in the Historical Allies building locate the Ally you wish to upgrade and open their Level Up tab (second from the top):
Next to the Ally's level, you will see the number of Scrolls you have available. Click on the Scroll button under Training to use one Scroll at a time, granting the corresponding amount of XP points:
If you want to bring your Ally to the next level in one swoop, click on this button at the bottom of the window:
By doing so, you will use up all Scrolls needed to level up the Ally. Note: be mindful of how many Scrolls you have available before using this feature.
