Siege Poker

In the annals of warfare, the siege of castles stands as a testament to strategic prowess and cunning. Whispers tell of a clandestine gathering where the sharpest minds and finest generals honed their skills through a secret card game, a tool designed to forge peerless tacticians. This game, once shrouded in mystery, now invites challengers into its fold. Exquisitely similar to poker, yet with its own unique twist, it creates leaders skilled in the art of siege. Engage in this ancient pursuit to hone your strategy, weaving luck and fate into formidable plans for castle conquest.

Will you dare to enter this hallowed arena and emerge as the supreme architect of siege tactics?

Basic Rules
This event involves defeating castles that become increasingly stronger after each victory. Each castle has a Defense Value. You reduce it with every attack. As soon as this is reduced to 0, you have defeated the castle.
After each completed battle against a castle, you will receive Coins that you can exchange for valuable prizes in the event shop.

You use 52 Poker cards for your attacks. 8 cards are drawn at random from this deck. Those cards are called ‚Hand cards‘. From those you select, 1 to 5 cards for an attack by simply clicking on them. Click on a selected card to deselect it again.
If you don't like the cards in your hand, you can discard cards. To do this, select them as you would for an attack, but then activate the ‘Discard’ button. The selected cards are then removed and replaced by new ones from the deck.

As soon as you are satisfied with the cards you have selected for an attack, activate the ‘Attack’ button. You only have a limited number of attacks. When you attack, the Attack Power of your attack is deducted from the Defensive Value of the castle. Your Attack Power is calculated as follows:

1. Poker Hand Attack Power
Depending on which Poker Hand your selected cards make, your attack will do different amounts of base damage.

2. Scoring Cards Power Values
Each card has its own Attack Power. Only those selected cards that are an active part of the currently used Poker Hand will add their Attack Power to an attack. These cards are called 'scoring cards'. 'Veteran' cards give additional 10 Attack Power.

3. Flags
After each castle you defeat, you can choose a Flag from the Flag Shop. These significantly strengthen your attacks.

Your deck is limited. Cards that you have attacked with or discarded are no longer in the deck. You can see which cards you still have by clicking on your deck at the bottom right. At the start of each new castle, your deck will be fully replenished.

If you have used up all Attacks but the castle still has Defense Value left, you have been defeated. In this case, all your previously acquired flags are removed, and you start again at castle 1. However, there is a chance that flags that you have leveled up will be stronger in the Flag Shop on your next run. So you will get a little stronger with every run.

You need a War Horn for every attack on a castle. You regularly receive new War Horns for free. Once these are used up, you can buy more War Horns if you wish.

Castles
You start a run with Castle 1 and try to defeat as many castles as possible one after the other. You will receive significantly more shop Coins for defeating higher castles.

Each castle has a Defense Power. This increases with increasing castle number.
2bf528f8fee45950a4781af92752fa4fCastles also have a difficulty level. If this is above 1, they are harder to defeat. Stronger castles usually have special abilities that make your attacks against them more difficult. Click on the difficulty icon to find out more about the stats and abilities of the current or upcoming castle. The used abilities are chosen randomly for each time you start with castle 1. So each run will feel different and present you with different challenges.
0207904e2ab0d9b8c10149870a6bf9b1Stronger castles usually have counterattacks. This means that after each of your attacks on the castle, the castle will ‘debuff’ one of your cards or even flags. The chance of hitting a flag is lower than for cards.
If a card is hit, this means that you can still use such a card to form a Poker Hand, but the debuffed card itself no longer adds any own Attack Power.
However, if a flag is hit, it is deactivated. The flag no longer works for the duration of the battle.

The effects of the counterattack are removed again when you attack the next castle.

Flags
Flags play a central role in the battles. They can affect almost everything and change the values and even the rules of the game in your favor. In the battle, the Flags are executed from left to right.

You can get flags in the Flag Shop after every battle you win. Select one of the 3 options there. You can find out what a Flag can do by clicking on one. The offer in the shop is selected at random. However, flags are not equally likely: normal flags are more frequent than rare ones, and there is an additional chance that flags you already have active will reappear.

If you take a Flag in the Flag Shop that you already have, your existing Flag will be leveled up. This improves its effect. The colors of the Flags match the level colors that you know from the Tribal Wars flags. The maximum level of a Flag is 9, too.

Up to six different Flags can be active at the same time. If all 6 Flag slots are occupied, you must delete a Flag in the shop before you can add a new one.

If you don't want any of the Flags offered in the Flag Shop, you can reroll all the Flags offered. This normally costs Premium currency. The price increases with each reroll. However, this will be reset for the next store.

If you lose a battle, you start again at Castle 1, lose all your Flags, and start all over again. However, every Flag that you have leveled up in one of your previous runs has a chance of appearing in the Flag Shop already as a level 2 Flag. The higher your previous max level for this Flag, the higher the chance.
